Boiler Service in Bonnybridge

Scott Murphy, who runs Pilot Heating Solutions from Falkirk. Ask to see the Gas Safe card, in Bonnybridge or anywhere else. A genuine engineer expects to be asked.

It is the sensible time. The system gets checked when nobody is relying on it, and any part that needs ordering is not being ordered during a cold snap.

If you are unsure, yes. A sensible quote explains what is being done and why, and it should stand up to being compared with another one.

Someone needs to give access to the boiler and, ideally, the meter. For rented Bonnybridge properties we can arrange access with the tenant if you set it up in advance.

Anything involving the gas supply, the flue, or taking the boiler casing off. By law that is work for a Gas Safe Registered engineer. Resetting the boiler or topping up the pressure as the manual describes is fine.

A service checks and cleans a boiler that is working. A repair visit finds and fixes a specific fault. If a service turns something up, you are told before any repair work is done.

Yes. A new house is a good moment to find out what boiler you have, when it was last looked at, and whether anything is due. Any paperwork left by the previous owner helps.

A boiler running with correct combustion and a clean heat exchanger burns less gas than one that is choked up. Nobody can put an honest figure on it for your specific system, but the direction is not in doubt.

Yes. The flue and the combustion readings are part of the service, because that is where safety problems show up.

No. The safety record checks that appliances are safe and is a legal requirement for a rented Bonnybridge property. A service is maintenance on the appliance itself. Many landlords book both together, which is straightforward to arrange.
