Emergency Plumber in Polmont

Yes, and it often helps. A photo of the boiler badge, the display and the pipework underneath it tells us a lot before the visit.

No, and this is the one exception to calling us first. Leave the property, do not touch switches or naked flames, and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999. Call us once it is safe.

Yes, as long as you tell us who to expect. For a Polmont property that is often the simplest way round a working day.

Turn the boiler off at the switch and isolate the water if you can. Leaks around a boiler can reach electrical parts, so leave the casing on.

Anything involving the gas supply, the flue, or taking the boiler casing off. By law that is work for a Gas Safe Registered engineer. Resetting the boiler or topping up the pressure as the manual describes is fine.

Rarely. Most leaks can be isolated locally, so the rest of the house keeps its water and heating while the repair is made.

Say so when booking. A loft boiler in a Polmont home needs safe access, a proper ladder and some light up there, and it changes how long the visit takes.

Find the stopcock and turn the water off, then put a container under the leak and move anything that can be damaged. Knowing where the stopcock is before you need it saves the worst of it.

If water is anywhere near sockets, wiring or a consumer unit, yes, and do not touch anything wet. Say so when you call so we know what we are coming to.

We stop the leak and make the plumbing sound. Drying out and repairing decoration is a separate trade, and your insurer will usually want to be involved before that starts.
